I am a conservative activist. It seems to me that there is reason to explain or define those terms. I am a conservative which does not mean that I am a racist despite how hard the liberal media tries to paint me that way. It means that I expect people to pull their own weight and to accomplish things based on their own merit and determination. The government shouldn't be expected to create wealth but to create the atmosphere where wealth can be created. It also doesn't mean that I hate education. I am a product of an underfunded and overpopulated public school and I have achieved a great deal and feel as though students can do the same. Rather than placing the burden of success fully on the teachers, it is important to place a generous portion of the responsibility on the parents at home to raise the bar and expect more out of their children. It also doesn't mean that I hate the elderly. Contrary to the liberal spin, I don't want to push my grandmother off of a cliff. Statistics say that 1/10th of the elderly population is in the poverty level. In my opinion, that is directly in line with the American society as a whole. Expecting anyone, regardless of age, sex, creed, religion, or nationality, to contribute more for their own sustainment isn't a penalty or punishment. It is a continuation of what should have been expected of them all of their lives. I am an activist which doesn't mean that I am a radical domestic terrorist. I run Port City Conservatives and am in the process of gaining involvement with other organizations in the area. Port City Conservatives is a tool that I felt the area needed in effort to gain more of an opportunity for individuals to speak out about conservative beliefs. We have seen great success already in what we have been able to achieve and look forward to being able to continue to grow. I also participate on the PR and Communications Committee with the New Hanover County Republican Party. I am engaged to a beautiful young lady by the name of Candace Semmel who I will be marrying in November of this year. We have a happy family that consists of Hope, our shar pei labrador mixed rescue and Kitty, our Russian blue cat. Unlike most on the left who love to argue of how the lower class has it so bad, I come from a lower class background. I have worked in the low paying jobs and I have lived on the streets. I have risen up above those adversities and made something of myself despite of them.

Obama’s Illusory Student Loan Scheme

With his latest pseudo-compassionate expansion of the student loan program, President Obama reminds us why we ask whether he is simply unable to learn from history or he is indifferent to government waste incurred in pursuit of “good intentions.”

Republicans and Risks

U.S. Virgin Islands — We arrived at a tiny outpost on St. Thomas on Oct. 26. As we stepped ashore, the gentleman beside me said, “28 years ago at this very minute, I was lining up my ‘thirsty’ A-7 to land on the deck of the USS Independence (CV-62) not far from here. It was day two of Operation Urgent Fury. We were flying nonstop close air support missions for troops in contact on the island of Grenada.”

Obama Creates College Bailout

By limiting student obligations to repay, and by passing more of the repayment burden onto taxpayers, colleges and universities will be able to continue to raise tuitions at a rate that outpaces nearly every other cost center in the American economy.

OWS Goes All OWS on Itself

Long live the 99, err, 98 percent!* (*98 percent for descriptive purposes only- not intended to be an actual value.)

John Galt’s Income (or Bill Gate’s)

So clearly, the Top 1% were total suckers for even bothering to put their money to work at all doing the other things they apparently did during those 28 years that pushed their effective rate of returns down. Like work!

The Energy Efficient New Liberal Order

Jobs seem to be not just optional, but unnecessary when it comes to the New Energy economy the New Liberal Order is creating for us all. In the New Energy economy they probably want to “people” the jobs with energy efficient robots that will vote the straight union ticket and take a paycheck that goes to 100 percent to union dues.

Rules of Engagement

Muammar Gadhafi is dead. Good. Naturally, in this era of litigating everything, everywhere, all the time; the question of how he actually died has become an issue because the rules of engagement generally state you can kill someone who is actively trying to kill you, but you can’t kill him after you’ve taken him into custody.

Please, President Obama, Stop Attacking Business Owners

Right now American’s top concern in the short term is jobs. Yet by action and by word, your administration keeps putting up barriers to job creation.

A Fat Pride Revolution

Perhaps I was not the only one ignorant of the field of “fat studies” or the existence of a “fat pride” movement? But this is meant to be serious stuff, starting with the Foreword by Marilyn Wann: “Fat Studies: An Invitation to Revolution.” A fat pride revolution?

Sic Semper Tyrannis

So may it be with all tyrants and enemies of the United States. Or do I repeat myself? Let’s hope so. For the American cause should always be freedom’s.
